Months before A Thousands Suns was released, Linkin Park teamed up with MySpace Music to present a groundbreaking opportunity. Fans from 30 different countries began by downloading stems to The Catalyst before anyone had heard the original song. They recorded and produced their own tracks; their peers listened and voted on their favourites. Next, Linkin Park combed through the submissions and picked the ultimate winner: NoBraiN, a.k.a. Chex, a 21-year-old teacher from Poland.
But while most people expected the winning track to simply be tagged onto the existing album. Linkin Park had other plans in mind. In addition to including his premix of The Catalyst on this disc, the band personally invited him to collaborate with them on a song for the album. They worked over the internet - live - to create the first online studio collaboration between multi-platinum artist and fan ever to appear on an album, worldwide. The results can be heard in the final minute of the song When They Come For Me.
The NoBraiN premix is included as a bonus track exclusive to HMV. Enjoy!
