RELEASENOTES

The angry young Vancouver lads in Left Spine Down are back with
a remix album. Theyve managed to get some quite impressive
names to rework their punky industrial tracks, such as KMFDM,
The Revolting Cocks, Combichrist, Tim Skold and more.

Band member Jeremy Inkel (also in Front Line Assembly) chips in
with a remix of Fighting for Voltage done together with fellow
FLA boy Chris Peterson, and call me predictable if you want, but
I have to say its funky electronics make it my favourite among
the multitude featured here - we get 20 tracks to choose from!
Thanks to the plethora of different remixers there is a healthy
dose of variation throughout, which cant really be said of the
album the songs originated from - Fighting for Voltage. The
mixes range from breakbeat to electro and old school industrial
and while I still find Kaine Delays vocals a bit grating after
a some time, they work fine in small doses. And a remix album
like this is not meant for home listening anyway.

A special mention has to go to The Birthday Massacres
reconstruction of Last Daze, completely remade with female
vocals by the band. Splendid stuff.

Three new songs can be found as well, in the form of two covers
and a newly written track called Welcome to the Future. The
latter is a wild, catchy electro punk tune and bodes well for
upcoming releases. Nirvanas Territorial Pissings and Joy
Divisions Shes Lost Control get covered in LSD style, with
pretty good results.

Im sure almost everyone can find something they like on this
remix disc, from Revolting Cocks delightfully heavy and funky
remix of Ready or Not, to Combichrists frantic electro twist
of Last Daze. Not every remix is great, but its worth your
while.
