Bad Brains - растафарианская американская хардкор-группа, была создана в Вашингтоне (округ Колумбия) в 1977 году. Bad Brains считаются пионерами хардкор-панка (хотя музыканты не называли свою музыку такими словами), однако их музыкальные эксперименты прошли гораздо дальше — в глубочайший рэггей. Bad Brains являются растафарианцами. Первоначально создана как фьюжн-группа Mind Power. Bad Brains выработали очень быстрый и интенсивный панк-рок звук, он был одновременно и сложнее и быстрее, чем то, что играли их современники-панки.
Bad Brains несколько раз разваливались и снова собирались, иногда в несколько ином составе. Но классический состав группы - это вокалист H.R., гитарист Dr. Know, басист Darryl Jenifer, барабанщик Earl Hudson.
Bad Brains занимают 99 строку в списке величайших хард-рок исполнителей музыкального телеканала VH1.
Beastie Boys были большими любителями Bad Brains и поэтому выбрали себе такое название (тоже B.B.).
